My husband and I just got home from staying over the weekend and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The room was spacious and had a nice mini fridge/microwave/coffeemaker area. Under the window was a counter with chairs that you could eat from and enjoy the view. The pillows and beds were comfortable and linens were nice and clean. The room smelled fresh and clean and the bathroom was spotless. The TV was a nice size and I liked that you could move it to angle where you were in the room. The floors were nice and clean and I like that there wasn’t carpet. Literally the only things that were slightly negative were: The spot with hangers for us to hang up our clothes had the kitchenette area under it so we couldn’t hang anything. The bathroom only had one roll of toilet paper and we ran out just as we were leaving (we’d have just gotten more if we were staying longer). And there were no towel bars to hang wet towels in the bathroom. We will absolutely come here again and encourage others to stay there as well. We were so pleased as well to see it’s a family run business, we love supporting them.
Super nice little motel with a great location. Right across from the lake, right next to a Kwik Trip, and on the outside edge of town so it's not too busy/noisy. Super friendly staff, nice clean rooms, and much cheaper than the big name hotels in town. They're also very pet friendly, with only a $10 pet fee. They have a big yard with lots of chairs, benches, fire pit, etc. Plus you can back right up to your door, so unloading is quick and easy. I would recommend staying here over anywhere else in town.
We pulled into town about 6 pm and got a room here without a reservation. This hotel was a treat to stay at. The room was clean and pleasant. The bed was soft and comfortable. There was a mini fridge and microwave, plus coffee. Rates were very affordable. But the real treat was the owner. She told us great stories of her hunting expeditions for bear! She directed us to a great restaurant uptown. And even after we checked out and moved to our campgrounds we went back and asked about features of the town. She was very helpful. Plus she makes beautiful afghans. I bought the blue and aqua one because it reminded me of the lake. If we go back to the area we will definitely stay here again!
I was looking for a quaint little motel close to Lake Superior that allows pets. The motel was situated perfectly. You can see the lake from your room. They have several benches situated in the grassy area out front for folks to sit and just look at the lake. I did see a charcoal grill as well. Tha room was nice, clean ND set up well. Pet friendly and the floors are tile and laminate. I was just there overnight but a great little place.
The rooms are clean and updated, the price is reasonable compared with the rest of the motels in town. There’s a nice view of the lake out the front door. We will stay here again if we come to Ashland.
